Choosing and launching a Windows VPS
Who needs a Windows server and how to get started
A Windows VPS is a dedicated virtual server running Windows Server. You connect to it via Remote Desktop and work just like on a regular computer, but with guaranteed resources and 24/7 access.
For accounting, office work and business applications
A Windows server is convenient when accounting software, a customer database or reports must be available to employees in different locations. Everyone works with the same database, and data isn't stored on individual laptops.
Before ordering, estimate how many people will connect at the same time and which applications will run: this determines how much RAM and how many vCPUs you need.
For .NET websites and applications
Projects built on ASP.NET, IIS and MS SQL Server are easiest to deploy on Windows. If your stack runs on Linux — PHP, Node.js, Python or Docker — choose a Linux VPS with the same plans.
When one server's resources are no longer enough, the project can be moved to a dedicated server.
